Her life has since been devoted to studying and teaching the healing methods and practice of Qigong and Taijiquan. She was introduced into the women’s martial arts community in 1992 at the Olympia, Washington Pacific Association of Women Martial Artist camp, quickly becoming a favorite and taught for many years at both PAWMA and NWMAF (National Women’s Martial Arts Federation). Grandmaster Yu was a Professor at the Jing Wu Athletic College, Shanghai, served as General Secretary, Shanghai Physical Culture Association for the Elderly and as a Judge and Coach for many Chinese martial arts championships. She taught at many conferences and trainings. She won many awards including Top Taijiquan Instructor in China, PAWMA Lifetime Achievement Award, Award of Excellence, National Women’s Martial Arts Federation and both Writer of the Year and Woman of the Year for Inside Kung Fu magazine. |
