Biography:

Lisa has been training in the Martial Arts for over 40 years. She is a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, 1st Degree Black Belt in American Style Nunchaku, and she trains in Toyama Ryu, a Samurai sword system.

Coaching, instructing, and being a lifelong student of the martial arts is her passion. She is the founder and owner of Turn of the Tide Martial Arts. She has been running her school in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan for 34 years. One of her greatest joys is teaching and training alongside her sons Marino & Angelo and her daughter Francesca, and their children.

Lisa is a lifetime member of the Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013. She is also an inductee of the Midwest Women’s Martial Arts Hall of Fame. She has served as the Events Coordinator and Chairperson for the National Women’s Martial Arts Federation.

Lisa credits the love and support of her husband Dave Santi and the mentorship of Jaye Spiro for helping her see her potential and to find her way as a teacher and martial artist.
