On 22nd of July 1993 in Tokyo, Japan, earned a third degree black belt under Masutatsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Karate. I am one of five women in the world and the only woman from the Middle East to earn a this degree. For women, the requirements were a 10 man fight for 3rd degree black belt. However, I did not take the women's standard and instead used the male standard, which is a 30 man kumite. I have continually trained and taught all levels since 1984. In 2005, I was honored with a fifth degree black belt, Shihan. With 20 years experience, I am the owner and CEO of Shihan Skin Care in Avon, CT where I developed an all-natural skin care product line. I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. |
