Teaching the Teacher:
Sharing our Knowledge

Our premier annual event is a conference focused on the needs of instructors and school owners, promoting excellence and high ethical standards. Attendees enjoy a variety of lecture, discussion, and “moving classroom” experiences, taught by women highly skilled in such areas as curriculum development; business, sales, and marketing; pedagogy; and more – not to mention a wide range of physical arts. In addition, the annual conference is a showcase for honorees of our Hall of Fame, Rank Promotion, and Rank Recognition programs.

The Coveted Hall of Fame Award:
Honoring our Colleagues

We value and honor women whose exceptional dedication and longevity in martial arts exemplify the highest potential of every woman and girl. Our annual Hall of Fame Banquet celebrates women with 30 or more years of continuous training.

Do you meet this criterion, or do you know someone who does?  – a teacher, colleague, or friend? We accept nominations year-round. Take a look at the full requirements, and get ready to apply or nominate someone for the AWMAI Hall of Fame.

“Great conference; great connections; excellent classes; and even better colleagues. Wow. Thanks all for giving of your knowledge and of your selves”.
-Sensei Delina Fuchs

“Thank you so much for all the work you do for this amazing community. AWMAI was a great experience for me and I'm so glad I made the last-minute decision to come. I felt so honored and humbled to learn from so many inspiring women like yourself. I can't thank you enough.”
